Christensen was a Danish Mormon convert who presided over branches in Denmark, emigrated to Utah (1861) where he presided again over a branch, and was president over the United Order in Richfield (1876-1881). In 1881-1883, Christensen went on a mission for the Mormon Church to Scandinavia where he presided first over the Hjerring Branch and then, the Aalborg Conference.
